Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 May 2026
ID Scanner ("the app", "we", "us") is built by VisitorsTrack and operates under the bundle identifier com.visitorstrack.idscanner. This policy explains what information the app handles and what we do โ and don't do โ with it.
TL;DR
- Every ID scan stays on your device. We never upload scan content, photos, biometric data or personal information to our servers.
- Three third-party services help with subscriptions and notifications. None of them receive scan content.
- You can delete every scan locally any time from the History tab.
1. What stays on your device
The following data is created and stored only on your iPhone or iPad, in iOS app-private storage. We have no access to it, no backups, no copies:
- Scan records (name, ID number, date of birth, expiry, age, state, gender)
- Banned-list photos you optionally capture
- Notes you write about clients
- Venue profiles, age thresholds, settings, hashed PIN
- Daily / weekly / monthly statistics
If you enable iCloud Sync in Settings, this data is mirrored to your own iCloud account so it can move to your other Apple devices. The data goes through Apple's encrypted iCloud Key-Value Store. We have no access to it. Apple's privacy policy applies: apple.com/legal/privacy.
2. What is shared with third parties
| Service | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat | Anonymous purchase token, your Apple receipt, anonymous user ID | Manage your subscription + restore on a new device |
| OneSignal | Anonymous push token, subscription state (is_subscriber, in_trial, trial_hours_left), total scan count |
Send trial-end reminders + tag users for re-engagement |
| Groq | Raw OCR text from the ID image (only when you actively scan in OCR mode) | AI-extract structured fields from text |
None of these services receive ID photos, scan records, banned-list data, or anything that identifies the people you scan. Groq receives only the raw OCR text from the current scan and does not retain it after processing.
We do not use any analytics provider (Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.) at this time. We do not sell, rent or share any data with advertisers.
3. Subscriptions
In-app purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not store, see or have access to your payment details. Cancellation is available at any time in iOS Settings โ Apple ID โ Subscriptions.
4. Data we never collect
To be explicit: we do not collect, store, transmit or sell:
- Photos of scanned IDs (kept locally only)
- Faces, fingerprints or any biometric data
- Location data
- Your contacts
- Your iCloud login or Apple ID
- Patron names, ID numbers or birthdates
This makes us different from enterprise ID scanners that store this data on their servers and may share it with third parties or law enforcement.
5. Your rights
You can:
- Delete a single scan by swiping left in the History tab
- Delete all scans with the "Clear All" button at the top of History
- Reset everything by uninstalling the app โ there is nothing on our servers to delete because we don't have any
- Request data deletion from RevenueCat / OneSignal / Groq directly at any time (links below)

7. Children
ID Scanner is a tool for licensed venue operators. It is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how data is handled, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, when relevant, surface a notice in the app.
